Sometimes it may be useful to have a shared email in order to have a mailbox to which several accounts can log in and respond without having to pay an extra license. Obviously you can create it directly from GROUPS -> SHARED MAIL, but in case we have an existing email and we want to have a shared email? And if instead you change your mind and a shared email, do you want to have a normal email? Let’s see how to do it.
FROM EMAIL TO SHARED EMAIL
To convert an email account to shared email go to the panel of ADMINISTRATOR -> USERS -> ALL ACTIVE USERS. Double click on the account to be converted, select MAIL and CONVERT IN MAIL SHARED and then CONVERT
Let us remember at this point to remove the license from the account and we will have created our shared email where you can assign access to the accounts we want.
FROM SHARED EMAIL TO EMAIL
To convert a shared email to a regular mailbox, go to EXCHANGE -> ADDRESSEES -> SHARE. We select the shared email and CONVERT -> YES.
We quickly convert an email to shared email and, in case you change your mind, we convert it back to a regular mailbox
